EDEKA Südwest

Vamos* With WAMAS And TTS

EDEKA Handelsgesellschaft Südwest mbH, a major German retail organization, was rolling out WAMAS for the implementation of its warehousing processes. The systems in its Offenburg (HQ), Heddesheim, Balingen, Weinsberg/Ellhofen and St.Ingbert locations are connected to the central SAP Retail system.

Knowledge transfer experts from TTS:

EDEKA fired the starting gun early in 2006 with the first WAMAS coaching in the goods-inwards area. Coaching in the SAP and WAMAS has been in progress since autumn 2006 and by the end of the year all warehouse processes could be managed in the new system. The qualification measures were executed for around 1,300 logistics users. A particular challenge for the project team was the narrow timeframe; moreover, late changes required flexibility from both organizational and content perspectives.Alongside the coaching of the office employees, there was also coaching for forklift truck drivers and porters, partly carried out onsite in the warehouse during day-to-day work activities. This ensured sound education for the warehouse personnel, and at the same time receipt and dispatch of goods continued without disruption. There are also some demanding challenges for the EDEKA team in 2008: a draft plan for permanent document updating, and the implementation of ongoing knowledge transfer to users are on the agenda.
