Employer branding à la Baloise

How Switzerland-based insurance company Baloise Group managed it, as a less-known employer, to attract good candidates.

With revenues of around CHF 9 billion the Basel-based Baloise Group is among the most successful insurance companies in Switzerland. The company has succeeded in differentiating itself from the competition through the Basel “Security World”, a unique prevention philosophy.

There are better-known companies than the Baloise Group, and even they find it difficult to recruit suitable talents on the Swiss employment market. The current unemployment rate in Switzerland amounts to a mere 2.9 percent. The situation is made all the more difficult by the fact that the insurance sector is not one of the most attractive, partly because its products are intangible and are mostly needed when life isn’t going so well.
